Course content
This course is designed for individuals with diverse academic or work experience backgrounds. It provides opportunities to gain industry-aligned skills in leadership, project management, and sustainable event organisation.
Key course content includes:
- Leadership and relationships: explore leadership, stakeholder management and EDI.
- Event creation and management: cover experience design, project management and risk management, following the PMBOK framework.
- Sustainability and innovation: examine sustainability, innovation and emerging trends, such as using AI in event management, all of which are aligned with relevant global standards.

Accreditation and professional recognition
The module People, Relationships and Leadership in Sports and Events meets the criteria set by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) for the CMI Level 7 Certificate in Strategic Management and Leadership Practice. Students who successfully pass this module will be eligible to gain the award as an additional qualification at no additional cost.
