Course content

This course is ideal for professionals in emergency response roles who want to enhance their expertise in incident management, leadership and community safety. Modules have been reviewed by external experts in the Civil Contingencies Secretariat (UK Cabinet Office) and align with industry requirements. Credits from this course can contribute towards the Emergency Management and Resilience MSc degree.

  • Analyse best-practice planning, policy and processes for developing effective emergency incident management strategies.
  • Explore legal and socio-political frameworks, emerging technological solutions, and current safety and threat environments in the sector.

  • One-to-one academic writing support is available for those who are new or returning to higher education.
  • You may have opportunities to take part in training and exercises through simulated emergency scenarios in our immersive Simulation Centre.
