  • Undergraduate degree with upper second-class honours (2:1) or above, or international equivalent.
  • Applicants from any academic background are welcomed.
  • Students admitted to the programme normally have two or more years of relevant work experience, but applicants with less experience (such as an internship) are also welcome to apply.

Course content

LSE's MSc Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SIE) programme blends academic rigour with real-world experience, equipping you to challenge traditional thinking and design impactful solutions to social and environmental challenges.

Programme highlights

  • Apply your learning in practice through a year-long group project with a real organisation, including international fieldwork
  • Choose how you complete the programme, with either a traditional research dissertation or an applied Capstone project - designing a social enterprise or consulting for an organisation
  • Develop entrepreneurial skills through access to LSE Generate and the 100x Impact Accelerator
  • Take two compulsory core courses in social innovation and organisational management, providing the theoretical and analytical foundation for the degree
  • Tailor the programme with elective courses (to the value of one unit)

Funding

The School recognises that the cost of living in London may be higher than in your home town or country, and we provide generous scholarships each year to home and overseas students.

This programme is eligible for needs-based awards from LSE, including the Graduate Support Scheme. The deadline for LSE financial support for 2026 entry passed in April 2026. Applications for 2027 entry will open in October 2026.

Selection for any funding opportunity is based on receipt of an application for a place – including all ancillary documents, before the funding deadline.

In addition to our needs-based awards, LSE also makes available scholarships for students from specific regions of the world and awards for students studying specific subject areas.
