Course content

Our MSc in Diplomacy, International Politics and Trade focuses on the skills, knowledge and understanding needed to operate professionally across cultures as well as time zones.

Our interdisciplinary Diplomacy, International Politics and Trade MSc programme connects the worlds of business, politics and diplomacy. All business is conducted in environments shaped by political decisions taken at national and/or international levels. You will learn how diplomatic negotiations between states (eg the US and China) lead to trade deals that set standards and regulate the supply chain. You will study the consequences of political choices (such as Brexit) for domestic and international business operations. You will step into the shoes of negotiators, diplomats and lobbyists to solve problems encountered in the real world, studying the consequences of political choices for all kinds of trade, and exploring political responses to crises such as Covid-19.

At Loughborough University London, you will study in an environment that puts business and enterprise at the heart of its curriculum. You will meet professionals who will share their practical experience (and secrets) with you and you will emerge as a professional with the competitive skills to enhance your career prospects wherever you are in the world, and whatever your business ambitions. Surrounded by businesses of all shapes and sizes, and connected to key political and diplomatic decision-makers, our London campus provides you with opportunities to connect with real-world problems and collaborate with the people who are addressing them. Your lecturers are passionate and experienced experts in their field, and are networked with the people who can bring the subject matter of this degree to life for your academic and professional benefit.
