Course content

Develop the skills and global mindset needed to solve the international business and management challenges of the future on this full-time master's in International Business.

Employers have a growing need for business and management graduates who are equipped to be responsible leaders and effective managers in today’s volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) world.

On this MSc International Business, you’ll add a sought-after layer of expertise to your management skills, learning how to apply them to complex situations in a global context – such as the conflict in Ukraine, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the evolving effects of climate change.

Within this, you’ll become highly adept at operating with sensitivity in cross-cultural teams – and learn how to work successfully in emerging markets that don’t have established institutions or processes in place.

Explore real-world issues with experts in the field

Taught by Loughborough’s experienced industry professionals and active researchers, the programme covers cross-cultural management, business negotiations, global collaboration, international human resource management, strategic decision-making and outsourcing.

With optional modules spanning digital marketing, financial technology, social entrepreneurship, supply chain logistics and working in international teams, there’s also plenty of opportunity to shape the programme to your own interests.

International study options for deeper learning

Unique to this master’s in International Business is the chance to spend your second semester studying at one of our worldwide partner universities, developing the fundamental skills of cross-cultural adjustment and collaboration.

Alternatively, you can take part in a large-scale international team project with students from up to six countries. Over 12 weeks, you’ll work on a real-life business case, experiencing the challenges and techniques of international collaborations across time zones and organisations.

You’ll leave the programme well prepared for roles across international business, such as negotiator, business analyst, country or regional manager, sourcing manager, trading executive and business development manager.
