Entry requirements

Academic Requirements

To gain entry to the Graduate Diploma in Information Technology an applicant must have an undergraduate degree in any discipline.

An applicant must also provide evidence to the Manager Digital Technology that they have a level of competency in the use of IT which will allow them to successfully operate at the required level of study.

English Language Requirements

All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at this level. Those students whose first language is not English will have:

  • An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall Academic score of at least 6.0 (with at least 5.5 in each band), issued within the last two years.

OR

  • A qualification considered to be equivalent to the above.

Special Entry

Entry is open to degree graduates. However, those who have been able to demonstrate equivalent practical, professional or educational experience of an appropriate kind may be granted admission.

Course content

The Graduate Diploma in Information Technology is for students who have already completed a degree.

This programme provides comprehensive knowledge and training in the latest developments in computer technology.

The Graduate Diploma in IT is designed on a one to one basis. As a student you will receive individual course plans that are designed around your needs, interests and career plans.

If you already have a degree, or extensive business experience and are looking to enhance your professional career, whether in a technical or a business area, this programme will give you an opportunity to extend your knowledge into a specialised field without having to complete another degree.

When you study this programme you have the option to apply for an internship in a local company.

The internship will allow you to gain valuable business experience and a reference for your CV which may assist you with your next step up the corporate ladder in New Zealand.
