Applicants should normally have a minimum of a 2:2 honours degree in a relevant discipline. Applicants with appropriate work experience and/or a relevant professional qualification will be considered.

Course content

We have 65 years of experience teaching fashion under our belt and a stellar track record of producing the most innovative of graduates. The MA Fashion Design (Womenswear) is an ambitious course suited to those with the determination to break into the competitive industry of womenswear.

Womenswear has always led the way in terms of prestige, creativity and opportunity in the fashion world. The Fashion Design (Womenswear) master’s aims to produce designers who can develop products with a high level of integrity and commercial value, as well as an appreciation of social issues like equality and diversity.

This course is suited to those who wish to further their individual design expertise, in the context of new and established technological and responsible design dimensions.

You will have the opportunity to collaborate with organisations from across the fashion and creative industries, through your project work. This will allow you to build your professional skills, your portfolio, and your network of contacts.

As well as supporting those seeking to develop independent fashion labels, this course will prepare you for a wide range of career opportunities within the fashion and creative industries. You will be ready for roles as diverse as fashion designer, fashion director, stylist, buyer, account manager, visual merchandiser, fashion editor, industry commentator, or trend forecaster.

We currently have alumnus working across the world for countless global labels and count Scott Henshall, the youngest designer to show at London Fashion Week and Creative Director of luxury British fashion house, Mulberry among our Alumni.

Information for international students

International applicants are required to have a minimum overall IELTS (Academic) score of 6.5 with 5.5 in each component (or approved equivalent).
