Course content

This Work and Organisation MRes is aimed at those who want to hone in on a specialist area of business and management. You will be able to align research to your career trajectory by delving into key areas of organisational structure, from social and political marketing to leading organisational change.

This pre-doctoral training programme is designed to provide a critical, research-led approach to work and organisation. You will gain a firm understanding of the complex internal politics and policies of companies, together with training in research skills appropriate for Doctoral-level study.
You will choose from a broad range of modules to supplement your own research. You could focus on organisational development and transformation, managing diversity, business ecosystems, knowledge innovation and management and other varied aspects of the sector. This array of subjects will give you preparation for a career within business, as well as for those aiming to undertake a PhD.
Modules offered are in conjunction with the School's Management MSc.
You will also cover core modules in research design, qualitative and quantitative methods. This gives you the opportunity to expand your professional network, as you share these modules with students from King’s College London and Imperial College, as part of the training offered by the London Interdisciplinary Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (LISS-DTP).
This course is an approved pathway for ESRC funding, which could cover the costs of both this MRes and a PhD.
