Course content

This programme is suitable for outstanding students who have an interest in advanced research-based study. This programme offers a route to further study at doctoral level or for a research position in industry.

Students to this course will join one of our research groups, and complete an extended research project providing an opportunity to develop further research and technical skills and demonstrate a level of independence that is greater than that offered on a purely taught programme.

Students can undertake advanced research-based study in one of our research specialisms including:

  • antenna and electromagnetics
  • studies in the Centre for Digital Music (C4DM)
  • multimedia and vision (MMV)
  • networks.

To further develop a specialism students select four taught modules from those available, relevant to their research project.
