Course content

Our Master's specialisation in Perception, Action and Decision-making is aimed at the three basic components of current Cognitive Neurosceince: modelling (e.g in physics), designing and conducting behavioural studies (e.g in psychology) and measuring the neurobiological foundations of behaviour. Catching a ball, grabbing a cup, writing down a sentence: these are all targeted actions that you often perform without thinking about them. Performing perceptuomotor tasks as a team such as in sports, understanding the actions of others, joint action in collaborative and competitive contexts: these are examples of topics in social neurocognition in which Radboud scientists are highly interested.

This programme is closely connected with the Donders Institute and Max Planck Research School.

What will you learn?

  • Gain a background in formal theories and models of perceptive functions, sensorimotor functions and complex actions
  • Learn about research and analysis methods in the field
  • Get valuable experience designing, conducting and presenting your research projects

Something for you?

· This track is aimed at the three basic components of current Cognitive Neuroscience: modelling, designing and conducting behavioural studies and measuring the neurobiological foundations of behaviour.

· As a student of this Master’s, you’re able to use the state-of-the-art research equipment that is located on campus, like the Sensorimotorlab.

· This track also works closely with the Radboudumc and the Sint Maartenskliniek, a hospital that specialises in posture and movement, also housed in Nijmegen.

Career prospects

Many graduates from this programme choose to pursue a PhD. Other graduates may find work as researchers in commercial or research institutes.
