Course content

Do you want to play a key role in responsible digital transformation in and by organisations? Learn about (big) data, infrastructure and AI, as well as developing your critical thinking and skills about the implications of using digital technology.

Something for you?

Are you impressed by what digital technology can do, yet also concerned when you read how organisations rely on wearables in warehouses to push for inhuman productivity targets (Amazon) or how AI cannot provide an example of a black, female executive leader? Then this master specialisation is right up your alley as we:

  • Focus on ethical, legal, societal and sustainable aspects (ELSSA) of digital transformation in and by organisations
  • Provide you with hands on basic understanding of (big)data, infrastructure and AI
  • Develop your critical reflection and skills on implications of digital technology
  • Teach you how to develop responsible digitalisation strategies
  • Turn you into the ‘boundary spanner’ between data and AI experts and strategic management that many organisations currently express an urgent need for
  • Prepare you to safeguard and contribute to SDGs and have significant societal impact

What will you learn

Our courses in Digital Transformation, Data Analytics for Responsible Decision Solutions (DARBS), Organisations in the Digital Economy, Digital Technology @ Work, and Digital Marketing will equip you with skills to leverage data and technology for responsible strategic decision-making, innovation, and sustainable growth, while taking into account possible impact on stakeholders and society.

In the ‘Digital Transformation’ course, you will be familiarized with foundational concepts regarding responsible digitalisation, such as types of data and data governance, infrastructures, forms of AI, legal and security issues, digital strategizing, and implementation and change management aspects. The ‘data analytics (DARBS)’ course teaches you to reflect on and use data and data analytical tools wisely for making informed choices. In the ‘Organizations in the Digital Economy’ course, you'll explore platform business models and their impact on labour markets and stakeholders, i.e. how they affect businesses and people's lives. The ‘Digitalisation @ Work’ course focuses on (managing) digital technology's impact on employees, work processes and labour relations. The ‘Digital Marketing’ course will provide you with the skills and strategy to leverage digital channels ethically and effectively to reach and engage audiences.

By the end of the program, you'll be ready to steer organisations through responsible digitalisation that benefit not only organisations but society at large. The knowledge you gain will help you make organisations in the digital age a better place for everyone.
