An honours degree at 2:2 or higher in maritime studies, shipping, business, economics, law, or a relevant subject. An ordinary degree or HND in a technical or business discipline, combined with appropriate professional experience. If your first language is not English, you must have an IELTS score of 6.5 (6.0 writing), or equivalent. Part-time study is not available for overseas students requiring a student visa.

The course has a strong business focus and explores the complex factors involved in the management of ships and shipping operations worldwide. Recently, Southampton Solent University launched the China Centre (Maritime) with the key aim of growing a number of strong links with industry and with maritime universities in China, allowing the University to be at the forefront of international research and global trade developments.
Information for international students
IELTS minimum 6.5 overall with minimum of 6.0 in writing and a minimum of 5.5 in reading, listening and speaking. TOEFL IBT 92 with minimum of 22 in writing and a minimum of 19 in reading, listening and speaking - TOEFL is only valid for EU students.
