To be considered for this Masters degree you will need:
- An initial degree (a minimum of a 2.1) in any discipline to include grade C/4 in GCSE Maths or Swansea University recognised equivalent
- A well written and structured personal statement
- If English is not your first language you will need to have a minimum of IELTS 7, with a minimum of 6.5 in all domains, or a University approved equivalent, prior to starting the programme.

Are you a graduate with a degree in a different field but have a passion for psychology. The MSc Psychology (Conversion) programme is your gateway to a new career. This course is tailored for individuals who wish to transition into the field of psychology.
The course confers Graduate Basis for Chartered Status with the British Psychological Society, which is a prerequisite for careers in Clinical Psychology, Forensic Psychology and many other professional psychologist roles.
This MSc covers all the core areas of psychology, including:
- Cognitive Psychology: Understand the workings of the human mind
- Social Psychology: Explore how individuals influence and are influenced by others
- Developmental Psychology: Study the psychological growth and changes across the lifespan
- Biological Psychology: Learn about the biological underpinnings of behaviour

Our state-of-the-art research facilities include a high-density electroencephalography (EEG) suite, a fully fitted sleep laboratory, a social observation suite, eye-tracking, psychophysiological, transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), and conditioning labs, a lifespan lab and baby room, plus more than 20 all-purpose research rooms.
Your Psychology (Conversion) experience
Based in the School of Psychology, the programme adopts a student-centred and evidence-based approach to teaching and learning, using a variety of methods, such as lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials, online resources, and independent study. The programme also fosters a supportive and inclusive learning environment, where students are encouraged to collaborate, participate, and engage with diverse perspectives and experiences.
