Entry requirements

Applicants for the PhD programme would normally have, or be studying for a Master’s degree, while our MPhil programme requires a first or upper second degree in a discipline related to the proposed research project, or a relevant, approved postgraduate qualification. In some cases, there may be opportunities for MPhil students to continue their studies as a PhD student.

Course content

Providing an evidence base for public health practice through empirical investigation, audit and evaluation.

The latest topics being explored by our students include the impact of a structured education package on nurses’ knowledge and practice in HBV and HBC in Saudi Arabia, and health visitors understanding of the principle ‘influencing policies affecting health’.
