Course content

Syracuse University's Au.D. program, offered by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, fosters a collaborative learning environment for faculty, students, and colleagues that furthers the understanding of audiology and the scientific bases of clinical practice.

  • Financial Support - Over the last three years 100% of incoming students have also received partial scholarship awards to help offset tuition costs. No separate funding application is required.
  • Fast Track to Graduation - We recently streamlined our program to 77 credits. You'll enjoy fewer courses and reduced tuition costs while receiving the same breadth of coursework options and depth of clinical experiences that our program is known for.
  • Clinical Experience - Students begin their clinical experience at the very start of their graduate program. The on-campus Gebbie Clinic and off-site clinical placements provide excellent hands-on training.
  • Active Research Faculty - Students are involved at several levels from working in labs, independent studies, group-directed research and thesis projects. All faculty are actively engaged in research addressing cutting-edge, clinically relevant projects.

Information for international students

  • International students, except those from English-speaking Canadian schools, the UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, must submit TOEFL or IELTS scores from within the last two years as proof of English proficiency. This requirement is waived for non-residents who have completed four years of undergraduate or two years of graduate study in the U.S. The recommended minimum scores are 105 on the TOEFL iBT and 7.5 on the IELTS. TOEFL scores should be sent to CSDCAS using code C122. Follow CSDCAS instructions for IELTS submission.

Fees and funding

As an AuD student, you will receive a 30% tuition scholarship that substantially lowers your costs. The program spans 11 semesters (including summers), with enrollment ranging from 5–13 credits per term in the first three years, and a total of 6 credits across the fourth year.

Beyond the 30% tuition reduction, you'll also be considered for:
