Systemic approaches to working with individuals, families and organisations (D4I, Intermediate)
Entry requirements
In order to be eligible for this course, you must have completed one of the following:
- The Tavistock and Portman's Systemic approaches to working with individuals, families and organisations (D4F, Foundation) training;
- The Tavistock and Portman's Child, adolescent and family mental wellbeing multidisciplinary practice (D24) training;
- An AFT-accredited foundation systemic training.
If you have not completed one of the above, you will need to demonstrate how you meet the learning outcomes of our foundation course.

Course content
Validated by the University of Essex and accredited by the Association of Family Therapy (AFT), this is the most advanced pre-qualifying course in systemic approaches – representing the ideal preparation for clinical training.
During your intermediate year, you'll be critically examining systemic theory and its applications, while exploring the latest debates and developments in thinking and practice. You'll deepen your capacity to consider the complex contexts and discourses that inform your work, and engage in a rich variety of supervised clinical work with families.
Graduates of this course will be eligible to join a qualifying Master’s degree course in systemic psychotherapy.
