Entry requirements

Our minimum requirements for entry to MSc Offshore Engineering are:

• A 2:2 UK honours degree (or equivalent) in any branch of Engineering.
• A 2:2 UK honours degree (or equivalent) in Applied Mathematics or Physics.

These are our minimum entry requirements. They are given as a guide and do not guarantee entry.

Course content

Gain the specialist engineering skills you need to work in the offshore energy sector, including renewables.

Uniquely, this degree includes courses on renewables and marine environment impact assessments, alongside industry-focused courses on subsea construction.

You’ll learn how subsea oil and gas production, technology, expertise and infrastructure installation can be repurposed for the marine renewables industry.

You’ll explore modern applications of offshore engineering, readying you for roles in today’s real-world offshore sector.

You’ll study flexibly, fully online, with a university pioneering research and delivery for the energy transition.

Who can join online MSc Offshore Engineering

This distance-learning MSc is open to recent graduates and engineers from a wide range of disciplines, including:

· civil engineering

· mechanical engineering

· petroleum engineering

· and to electrical and electronic engineers interested in a career in subsea controls.

You can also study this degree full-time on campus.

You do not have to pay your full online degree fee upfront. You can pay for it one term at a time, spreading the cost.

Each term, you decide how many credits you would like to take, and pay only for those credits. This gives you control over your costs each term, as well as your workload.
