Course content

Our MSc (Pre-Registration) Dietetics programme prepares you for a fulfilling career as a dietitian across a range of health and nutrition settings, including the NHS.

Our course aims to develop leaders in contemporary dietetic practice. Your academic and clinical practice learning is integrated in a stepped way, preparing you for the workplace through clinical cases and placement learning. Successful completion of the dietetics degree entitles you to apply for Health and Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a Dietitian.

You’ll learn practical skills through work-based placements with our North West healthcare partners and simulations within purpose-built assessment facilities. Our programme uses real-world case studies, which will equip you with the clinical and professional skills you need for the workplace.

You’ll be taught by our HCPC registered dietitians with a wide range of experience in clinical practice and research, alongside other nutrition and health professionals. Your learning is closely linked with other Allied Health Professions (AHP) and Nutrition courses and linked to research teams in both Nutritional Sciences and Applied Food Safety Studies and Allied Health.

This award is approved by the Health & Care Professions Council and accredited by the British Dietetic Association. Individuals are eligible to apply for registration with the HCPC as a registered Dietitian and to apply for full membership with the British Dietetic Association.
