The Master’s Programme in Mathematics and Statistics is intended for anyone interested in acquiring fundamental knowledge in mathematics and/or statistics, and applying that knowledge for a wide range of career paths in academy and industry.

You are eligible to apply if you:

Degree structure and content

The programme offers a solid foundation in mathematical and statistical applications and is organised into three study tracks:

  • Mathematics study track
    • Mathematics specialisation
    • Mathematical logic specialisation
    • Mathematical biology specialisation
  • Insurance and Financial Mathematics study track
  • Statistics study track

Your initial study track choice is assessed during the application process based on your previous studies and motivation letter. At the beginning of your studies, you select a preliminary track, but you may switch between tracks later if your interests evolve.


Teaching and learning

Teaching combines theoretical and practical approaches, including lectures, exercises, and demonstrations. Most courses are taught on-site, though some may be available online.

Courses can often be completed through independent study followed by an exam. All teaching is conducted in English.
