Entry requirements

Applicants will need:

A first degree in Law (or a subject in a related discipline, such as Business, Political Science or International Relations) at a minimum of 2:2. Or, an overseas qualification which is equivalent to a UK Honours degree, minimum 2:2 classification.

You must also satisfy the University’s English language requirement for the course, which is a GCSE grade 4 or above (Grade C or above under the old grading structure), or IELTS at 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each band. For country specific qualifications, please visit our Your Country page.

Course content

LLM International Human Rights Law will enable you to explore a wide range of subjects in the realm of ethics and human rights.

The Work Experience study-route enables students to gain valuable career-development experience within law firms. You will receive placement guidance via our award-winning careers service should you need support securing or arranging your placement.

If you’re studying a postgraduate degree e.g. a MSc, MA or LLM you may be eligible for a postgraduate master’s loan up to £11,836.

Those studying pre-registration postgraduate healthcare courses and PGCE or unsalaried schools direct can apply for the undergraduate funding package. Graduate-entry medical students can also get support from Student Finance England for fees charged over £3,465.

Postgraduate loans are paid directly to the student, so you decide how to spend the money, whether that be to pay for some or all your tuition or to go towards living costs.
