Entry requirements

Entry requirements for this course are normally:

  • A minimum of a lower second class honours degree in Chemistry, Biology or Pharmacy or a related subject.

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent. Competent Pharmaceutical and Analytical Scientists are presently in demand in the pharmaceutical and related industries. This course has been designed with input from Pharmacists and Pharmaceutical Scientists with a wide range of industrial and research experience. Pharmaceutical analysis involves the testing of drug substances and the formulation of pharmaceutical drugs as they are utilized. This course will provide you with a comprehensive overview of the most recent technological developments and applications in Pharmaceutical and Analytical Science. The different methods of drug formulation currently being used, and being developed, are described alongside the instrumental techniques which can be used in the analysis of drug components. The modules are taught by enthusiasts who are experts in their fields. The course is two thirds taught material and one third project.
