Entry requirements

Entry requirements for this course are normally:

  • An Honours degree (2:2 or above) in Electronic Engineering, Computing or related disciplines
  • Or equivalent professional qualification

Other qualifications and/or experience that demonstrates appropriate knowledge and skills at Honours degree standard may also be accepted

If your first language is not English, you will need to meet the minimum requirements of an English Language qualification. The minimum for IELTS is 6.0 overall with no element lower than 5.5, or equivalent will be considered acceptable. Course content

A vast increase in automotive electronic systems has created an array of new engineering opportunities and challenges. Nowadays, electronic systems form a key aspect of modern vehicles. This course is designed to address some of these challenges. The course includes the principle aspects of electronic engineering and will give you an appreciation of the issues encompassing the move to lower emission road transportation. In addition, it will provide an understanding of the technical and economic aspects of modern vehicles.

We will aim to address the postgraduate educational and training requirements of research, design and development for engineers working in the area of electronic and automotive systems. We will provide students with the opportunity to:

  • develop their technical knowledge and design skills
  • develop management knowledge and skills appropriate to technical management
  • develop and enhance students' ability to undertake a major design project

This Masters course will provide graduates with the skills to meet the needs of the wide range of industries that use technology and are not limited to the area of this course specialism.Consequently, graduates will not only become professional engineers in this specialism but will have the skills to research, design, develop and manage in other professions.
