A minimum of a second-class UK degree, or an equivalent internationally recognised qualification in a variety of subject areas is accepted for entry into this course.

All applicants are considered on an individual basis and additional qualifications, professional qualifications and relevant experience may also be taken into account when considering applications.

Course content

Our MSc in Strategic Project Management equips students with a comprehensive framework of detailed theory and practical processes needed to become a skilled project manager in this ever-evolving sector.

All businesses need to stay on task by ensuring they employ strategically organised people to achieve specific objectives and manage resources effectively to reach goals. On our MSc Strategic Project Management learn the methodologies and principles essential to being a successful project management via expert-taught theory that is applied practically throughout the course on real business case studies and industry visits.

This MSc covers topics ranging from corporate strategy management, leadership and change management to modules that explain the importance of a proactive Project Management Office, employability development and portfolio management.

You also have access to our ASPIRE centre, a purpose-built entrepreneurial lab where you can develop, plan and launch your own start-up business.

MSc Strategic Project Management is also available with an optional Industrial Placement.

January Start

You can start our MSc Strategic Project Management course in January. This gives you more opportunities to apply for postgraduate funding and the flexibility to begin your studies without waiting for entry in September.

Industrial Placement

Industrial placements are the perfect way for you to enhance your career prospects and deepen your understanding of a specific area of expertise. This MSc programme is available with the option to take an in-company or self-employed industrial placement of up to 12 months (visa dependent), allowing you to gain work experience in the UK or overseas.

English language entry requirements

The University requires all non-native speakers of English to reach a minimum standard of proficiency in written and spoken English before beginning a postgraduate degree.

Applicants who are required to meet an English language condition may be able to study a pre-sessional course in English for Academic Purposes through Kent International Pathways.

Fees and funding

KBS has a wide range of funding opportunities for postgraduate students, which include Scholarships, Bursaries, the Kent Business School Loyalty Award for University of Kent undergraduates and the KBS Early Bird Discount which equates to 10% off tuition fees (apply by 31 March 2023 and pay course deposit by 30 April 2023).
