Entry requirements

Applicants will normally be expected to have a 2:1 (hons) degree or equivalent. Other qualifications will be considered on an individual basis. If English is not your first language you will also need an English Language qualification, for example IELTS 6.5 with at least 6.0 in all components.

Course content

The MA Childhood Studies is an innovative, forward-looking course at the cutting-edge of Childhood Studies, centered around the 'new' social study of childhood.

Multi-discipline in nature, it will enable you to explore global approaches to childhood and youth (birth -18 years) drawing on perspectives from sociology, psychology, anthropology, philosophy and inclusive education. As well as compulsory modules in childhood, this programme enables you to select specialist modules in disability; special educational needs; methodology and developing leadership.
