Introduction

The Executive Master of Public Health (MPH) is built for experienced professionals who are ready to step into more influential leadership roles and shape the future of public health. Delivered in partnership with International Livestock Research Institute in Nairobi, the programme combines academic excellence with direct, real-world relevance, so what you learn can be applied immediately in your organisation and context.

Through a flexible blended format, you’ll balance online study with immersive, intensive teaching blocks at ILRI’s world-class facilities. This structure allows you to continue progressing in your career while expanding your global network and learning alongside peers from diverse sectors and health systems.

The curriculum is designed to strengthen both strategic insight and practical capability. You’ll explore global health improvement, policy development, research methods, health economics, systems management, and One Health, gaining the tools to analyse complex challenges and design effective, evidence-informed solutions. Your learning culminates in a dissertation focused on a real-world issue, giving you the opportunity to generate meaningful impact while demonstrating advanced leadership and research skills.

Teaching is interactive, collaborative, and research-connected, drawing on the University of Liverpool’s internationally recognised strengths in Public Health and One Health. Authentic assessments ensure that your work reflects professional practice, helping you build confidence as a decision-maker and change agent.

By the time you graduate, you’ll be equipped not only with an advanced qualification, but with the strategic perspective, global outlook, and practical expertise to influence policy, lead programmes, and drive equitable, sustainable change across health systems worldwide.
