Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Robotics

Mathematical Sciences
Ranked 4th in the 2020 Guardian Mathematics University League Table.

Civil and Coastal Engineering
Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE), Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) and The Chartered Institution of Highways and Transportation (CIHT) accredited degrees.

Mechanical, Marine and Materials Engineering

Biological Sciences
Royal Society of Biology accredited degrees, with hands-on fieldwork both locally and around the world being a fundamental part of these degrees.

Marine Science
Benefit from the Marine Station - our landmark £5 million coastal teaching and research facility - housing a fleet of research vessels, equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation for practical work.

Marine Biology
Benefit from field trips abroad, including: Portugal, South Africa, Sweden, France. Also take the opportunity to gain the HSE PRO SCUBA qualification.

Royal Geographical Society accredited degrees, all with a choice of international field trip destinations.

Earth Sciences
Geological Society accredited degrees, with 100% of MGeol students were "satisfied with the quality of their course" (UNISTATS, 2019).

Environmental Science
Institution of Environmental Sciences accredited degrees, with Extensive UK and overseas fieldwork portfolio, including: Dartmoor National Park, Malaysia and Malta.

Chemistry
Degrees accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry, with 95% of our BSc (Hons) Chemistry students saying that “staff are good at explaining things” (UNISTATS, 2019).
