Course content
The MSc Cyber Security is a one-year full-time postgraduate degree designed to develop advanced technical expertise in protecting digital systems, networks and data. The programme equips you with the knowledge and practical skills required to address contemporary cyber threats across public, private and regulated sectors.
You will study core areas including systems and network security, digital forensics and incident response, IoT and cloud security, risk management, governance, and AI-enabled security operations. Teaching combines theoretical foundations with hands-on laboratory work and applied projects, enabling you to design, implement and evaluate secure systems in realistic professional environments.
A major capstone project allows you to investigate and solve a complex cyber security challenge, producing a substantial technical artefact and report that demonstrates your analytical and practical capability.
The programme prepares you for professional roles in cyber defence, security operations, digital forensics, cloud security and consultancy, while also providing a foundation for further academic study.
