Course content
The MA Education Leadership and Management is designed for aspiring and established leaders working across schools, colleges and wider education settings. The programme supports you to develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed to lead positive change in education, bringing together students from diverse professional, cultural and national backgrounds with a shared commitment to improving educational practice.
A central focus of the course is leadership through a social justice lens. You will examine how inequities and inequalities shape education systems and organisations, and explore how leaders can create more inclusive, equitable and effective practice. The programme engages critically with leadership and management theories, organisational structures and models of change, applying them to real contexts and professional experience.
You will also develop as a research informed practitioner, strengthening your ability to evaluate evidence, recognise bias and construct well-reasoned responses to complex challenges. Teaching is delivered on campus in the evening and combines interactive lectures, seminars, applied workshops and guided independent study, culminating in an independent research project.
