Course content

Looking to develop into an Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) role? This multiprofessional programme will help you develop essential skills such as advanced health assessment, clinical decision making and patient management, enabling you to work across the integrated care system.

On our MSc Advanced Clinical Practice Apprenticeship, our priority is ensuring that you graduate with advanced knowledge and skillset. This incorporates;

History taking

· Advanced health assessments

· Clinical decision-making

· Patient management

· Perscribing

By incorporating generic and specialist modules, this MSC will help you to pursue a career in Advanced Clinical Practice in Community, Integrated and Primary Care settings.

On this programme you will also gain enhanced understanding of

· quality improvement

· research

· and audit within healthcare organisations.

This programme will develop you into an appropriately educated multi-professional Advanced Clinical Practitioner, to meet your future needs of healthcare organisations and the populations they serve.

Your learning will incorporate a mixture of face-to-face learning, as well as using the university’s virtual learning environment (VLE) (Moodle). This blended approach supports the development of your digital literacy skills which are essential for working in current and future health settings.

You will participate in diverse and authentic assessments in both theory and practice. These include case-study based assessments, oral presentations, poster presentations, self-reflections, peer review and feedback as well as an e-portfolio which evidences your development across the programme.

On completion of the programme, graduates will be qualified to apply for Advanced Clinical Practitioner Roles (ACP) roles in a range of NHS, private, voluntary and independent settings, including primary care. ACP roles often provide the opportunity for graduates to work outside of their traditional professional field/boundaries. It is likely that due to the evolution of the healthcare workforce that further roles/career pathways will evolve rapidly in the future and indeed, ACPs are very well placed to lead this service development.
