Entry requirements
Applicants should hold an undergraduate degree in psychology with a minimum of second-class honours (2:2), or an MSc Psychology (Conversion). Applicants must also be eligible to hold Graduate Basis for Chartership (GBC) with the BPS.

Course content
The MSc Forensic Psychology is a BPS-accredited programme that fulfils Stage 1 training towards becoming a Forensic Psychologist and offers a professionally grounded curriculum directly linked to forensic practice. The course integrates theory, assessment and intervention to develop your ability to assess, understand and respond to offending behaviour and mental health within criminal justice settings.
You will gain practical experience in areas such as forensic risk assessment, case formulation, report writing and mock trials, while strengthening your research and analytical skills. The programme emphasises understanding legal and ethical frameworks, reflective practice and clear professional communication. You will also develop experience with professional tools including SPSS, NVivo and AI-supported platforms to support modern forensic practice.
With a strong focus on employability and real-world relevance, the programme prepares you for progression to Stage 2 training in Forensic Psychology or for professional roles across forensic, clinical and criminal justice environments.
