Course content

How do we really know the past, and how do we feel it in the present? Is it through archives and monographs, or through visits to castles and ruins? What about podcasts, TikTok, or TV shows like Bridgerton?

Join Public History and Global Cultural Heritage at the University of Southampton to explore how historians and archaeologists interpret, preserve, and present the past. This immersive programme introduces students to the study of public history and global cultural heritage, combining classroom learning with hands-on experiences and site visits.
By the end of this 2-week programme, you’ll understand how history and archaeology shape our shared understanding of the past.
