Entry requirements
Applicants must hold a medical degree which is recognised by the UK General Medical Council. Applicants will normally be required to be employed in either a clinical or research role within University Hospitals Southampton or other Trust affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine. Course content
You can choose from Southampton’s full and part-time PhDs in a broad range of specialist areas in Medicine, including biomedicine, research in clinical environments and population-based statistical studies. Our PhDs are aimed at students who are enthusiastic about developing their careers in scientific or clinical research, and will give you the high quality training in research-related skills and professional/transferable skills enabling you to become a confident, independent researcher.
