Course content

Our iPhD could be right for you if you have a research study in mind that would make an original contribution to education but you do not have a master’s degree that included a significant research element.

In the first 12–18 months, we’ll equip you with a foundation in research skills and support you to develop your proposal. You will complete a range of research and Education modules with the opportunity to explore the best in professional knowledge, cutting-edge research, and evaluation evidence in a variety of educational contexts.

In the second phase of your programme you will undertake a substantial research project leading to a PhD thesis. You will receive support from a supervisory team with specialist expertise in your area.

• Join a community of education leaders shaping practice and innovation globally ranked 4th in the UK (Education, The Complete University Guide, 2022)

• Carrying out world-leading research in higher education, social justice and inclusive education, educational effectiveness, mathematics, science and health education
