A relevant UK bachelor’s degree with upper second-class honours or higher and usually a master’s degree (typically at merit or higher) in a relevant subject. See international equivalent qualifications on our website.

Our PhD offers you the opportunity to be guided and supported by world-leading researchers working in the areas of inclusion in education, mathematics and science education, leadership, educational effectiveness and policy. You will develop skills in planning and development, data collection and analysis, and have the opportunity to present at national and international conferences and publish your work in leading journals.

Information for international students

If English is not your first language, you will need to demonstrate your English meets our Band C: For IELTS, this is 6.5 overall, with minimum 6.0 in all components. For information on other accepted English language tests, please see the website.
