Course content

Our MSc Marketing Management programme takes an analytical approach, informed by Surrey Business School’s emphasis on innovation and leadership. You’ll learn by doing, and develop the attributes, ways of thinking and behaviour of a contemporary marketer.

You’ll gain subject-specific knowledge and management skills that you need to be effective in today’s challenging business world, including marketing plans, strategies, processes and techniques, and communication and customer-facing functions. You’ll also study a range of core concepts from other management disciplines including innovation management. This course also has a particular focus on how these areas relate in the interdisciplinary and real-world environment of digital and entrepreneurial marketing.

You’ll have the option to choose from a variety of elective modules, with topics ranging from consumer behaviour to an introduction to marketing analytics.

This course includes a placement module as a final project, where you’ll take what you’ve learnt and apply it in a relevant organisation. This course lets you tailor your degree to fit your personal career aspirations. You can also take advantage of our optional placement pathway, which lets you further enhance your professional and practical skills.

By the end of this course, you’ll have gained the subject-specific knowledge and management skills you need to be effective in today’s business world.
