Course content

Technological developments and shifting dynamics have created a complex business landscape. Across the globe, organisations need skilled project managers who can navigate contemporary challenges. They also need to integrate strategic thinking and sustainability into their practices.

This course will prepare you to plan and manage projects effectively and efficiently. Working within an innovative community, you’ll develop a professional approach underpinned by strategic thinking.

You’ll be taught and supervised by leading project management experts in the University of Sussex Business School. Our Project Management MSc draws on expertise from the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU), which is one of the world’s leading centres of research on science, technology and innovation policy and management.

As a student, you’ll have access to our established industry connections, state-of-the-art facilities and enhanced careers support. You’ll also have opportunities to engage with mentoring, networking, talks and guest lectures.

By studying at Sussex, you will:

  • develop effective approaches to complex projects
  • consider how to identify and mitigate risks by develop risk management plans

Information for international students

We are pleased to announce that all international applicants who study a full time Masters course at the University of Sussex Business School starting in September 2025 will receive a £2,000 award towards their overseas tuition fee. A range of unlimited country specific scholarships are also available.
