Entry requirements

You can study a standard master's degree if you have:

  • A standard degree from a Spanish university (of any level and duration).
  • A foreign degree from a European Higher Education Area (EHEA) country, which enables the student to study a master's degree in the issuing country.
  • A foreign degree from a non-EHEA country, which is of an equivalent level to a standard degree in that country and which enables the student to study at postgraduate level there. The degree does not need to be formally recognised in Spain. Consult the information concerning document legalisation procedures at the Ministry of Education.   • you are taking a recognised bachelor's degree course at a university in Spain and you only need to pass the Final Year Project (TFG) to obtain the degree. You can apply for a place on the Master's Degree course and provisionally enrol in the last applications and enrolment period. You need to certify that you have enrolled for your TFG project and can complete you bachelor's degree in the same academic year that you start the master's degree course. Under no circumstances will you be able to obtain a university master's degree if you have not first obtained a recognised bachelor's degree.

Apart from the general entrance requirements, each Master's Degree has its own admissions requirements and specific selection criteria.

Admission requirements
  • A degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Biology, Genetics, Microbiology or Biomedical Science. Applicants without this background may apply for the Masters if they have the necessary experience in molecular biology or genetics. Applicants without this experience may have to take between 6 and 12 complementary training credits in these areas. Applicants requiring more this complementary training will not be accepted.
  • Accredited B2 level of English according to the CEFR. Applicants without accreditation will need to take the level test set by the Master's Degree coordinator

Course content

The aim of the Master's in Omics Data Analysis is to produce well-trained professionals who can perform efficient and thorough analysis of large amounts of genetic and molecular data.

The Master's responds to the growing use of high-performance omics techniques in biomedical research and in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries and to the increasing demand for highly-qualified professionals in this field. The programme provides knowledge of the most important techniques in omics data acquisition and analysis. Students will be able to analyse omics data information using appropriate statistical and bioinformatics tools.

In collaboration with research centres and companies in the field the teaching methodology will ensure that a wide range of applications are covered.

Classes are taught in English.

It can be follow in person in Barcelona (teaching from October to March, from Monday to Friday from 3pm to 7pm) or 100% online through pre-recording videos that can be viewed when it suits the student.
