Entry requirements

A lower second honours degree in Computer Science or equivalent.

A Postgraduate Certificate in Computer Science or a related subject with a minimum of grade C in all modules.

Course content

The course will develop a depth of knowledge across several specialised and applied areas of Computer Science, such as Software Development, Mobile and Web Development, Advanced Databases, and Distributed Computing. These are areas that are much in demand, both in industry and research. There is a strong emphasis upon practical experience backed up with the underlying theory from the academics who are active and publishing researchers. The course focus is on teaching up-to-date and relevant in-demand knowledge and skills, from web development through to ethical hacking.

This degree builds upon fundamental areas of undergraduate Computer Science to give the students deep knowledge in specialist topics. The typical areas that you will study are:

  • Database Technologies
  • Distributed and Mobile Technolgies
  • Web Technologies
  • Mobile Application Development
  • Research Methodologies
  • Over the summer months you’ll also work on your research project.

Information for international students

English Language requirements are normally IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in each area (unless otherwise stated) or equivalent accepted qualification.
