Entry requirements

Applicants should have a good first degree (2:1 or equivalent) in a social science subject. Previous tuition in management subjects is desirable but it is not essential. Applications will also be considered from candidates with a good 2:2 degree (or equivalent) and at least two years relevant work experience. For students whose first language is not English, we normally require evidence of English language ability. If you are a non-native English speaking applicant you must provide evidence of your English language ability. You need to show enough fluency in all aspects of English (reading, writing, speaking and listening) to the required level of the course you're applying to.

The programme is vocationally relevant and academically rigorous and enjoys full accreditation from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

The York MA in Human Resource Management is delivered by a team of specialist HR academics, supported by practitioners who work closely with the local CIPD branch. Teaching is delivered via a mix of lectures, seminars and practical workshops. The teaching faculty are subject experts in their respective fields and many have professional experience in HR management.
