The ATT Programme

When you join, you’ll start working towards the ATT qualification. As an Apprentice you'll get involved with client work as part of a supportive and inclusive team. Our apprentices have the opportunity to work with a diverse clientele representing various industry sectors, giving you a well-rounded experience. We prioritise your growth by providing you with a mentor and training manager throughout the programme

You will be based in either our ‘Private Client’, ‘R&D’, ‘VAT’, or ‘Business Tax’ department, where you'll gain valuable commercial insights into how organisations operate and the challenges they face. Your responsibilities will grow as you progress through the programme. Your career with Menzies doesn't just stop once you complete your ATT qualification, you can be given the opportunity to progress onto further studies, such as the 1-year CTA qualification.

What does a Tax team do?

Our Tax teams are responsible for managing and handling various aspects of taxation for individuals, businesses, and organisations. Their primary role is to ensure that clients comply with tax laws and regulations while optimising their tax positions to minimise tax liabilities legally. Overall, our tax team plays a critical role in helping individuals and businesses navigate the complex world of taxation, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and optimising their financial positions within the boundaries of the law.

What do we look for?

We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who enjoy a challenge and we welcome applicants with a minimum of 2 x A levels (A-C) and one other A level or equivalent 5 GCSEs grades A*- C or 9-4 (Maths and English Language preferred) or equivalent. Accounts is a technically demanding discipline, so it’s important that students can grasp new subjects quickly. You don’t have to be a maths genius but it’s important you are confident with numbers and have good attention to detail. You’ll often need to explain complex financial information, so you’ll also need excellent written and verbal communication skills.
