Course content

Our MSc Management and Finance course encourages you to think and perform like a future financial manager, looking at finance on an international level. We provide you with established theories of management and financial practice, and invite you to question their practicalities and come up with new strategies.

Professional accreditation from Chartered Management Institute (CMI) ensures our course is fresh and relevant, and our past graduates have gone to work with established companies including Energy Earth Public Company Ltd.

What's covered in the course

The course provides the opportunity to combine the theory and practice of management with the completion of an in-depth dissertation on finance. You’ll become adept at financial decision-making, leadership and business practice across a range of organisations.

The course will provide you with the skills employers really value, so it is the perfect option if you want to change career direction or move up the corporate ladder. Previous students have secured jobs in asset management, consultancy and marketing, for businesses including SMADAC Securities Ltd.

You’ll be taught to question, analyse and plan a smooth course in the choppy waters of international corporate finance. We’ll nurture your skills by helping you devise contemporary and forward-thinking strategies and day-to-day tactics that will help organisations thrive in a competitive industry.

We’ll put you in the shoes of a manager at the sharp end of financial decision making, weighing up your company’s financial objectives. You’ll look at budget constraints and ways to maintain financial security, and will emerge with an awareness of the responsibilities and rewards of a competent, qualified manager.

This course will be held at our newest facility, The Curzon Building, part of our City Centre Campus. The £63 million building provides you with a unique learning space, featuring plenty of informal ‘break out’ areas available, creating an open, sociable atmosphere. There is also a new home for the Students’ Union, with its location moving to the restored Victorian pub The Eagle and Ball. The dedicated social learning spaces ensure you’ll have the perfect facilities to work independently and confidently, having the time and support you need.
