This course is for anyone who has not studied Computing at undergraduate level and would like to focus on this discipline through postgraduate study. At Keele, you will acquire the skills that employers demand in the computing and IT sectors across the globe and become familiar with the most recent software engineering techniques. With a broad focus on the core competencies for the design and management of information systems, our course will make you a skilled professional, ready for a career in industry or research through applying your learning to real-world problems.

This course is aimed at developing your programming skills from a very basic level, using Python, so you can move onto more advanced programming concepts used in other modules. Our experienced lecturers will help you develop an advanced knowledge of software engineering methodologies, as well as data analytics and databases.

You will develop and extend the practical skills that are necessary for the designing, building, deployment and evaluation of distributed information systems and enterprise applications over the Internet, with a focus on security issues.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ENTRY REQUIREMENT FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component. The University also accepts a range of internationally recognised English tests.

If you do not meet the English language requirements, the University offers a range of English language preparation programmes.
