Course content
Our MSc International Human Resource Management programme explores the challenges facing companies that manage people across nationally distinct systems in a global economy. This interdisciplinary programme is focused on the comparative analysis of human resource management and employment relations.
Drawing on management theory, sociology, political science, and comparative political economy, this programme examines the interaction between global competitive pressures, national politics and institutions, and business strategy.
We will examine how economies are shaped by political and cultural institutions, why models of best practice regarding work organisation and human resource management spread unevenly across national borders, and what is the relationship between HRM strategy, broader business strategy, and the organisational environment.
In addition to engaging debates around best practice for people management, this programme develops business awareness regarding economic and institutional trends across the global landscape, with a particular emphasis on employment relations.
Our MSc International Human Resource Management programme will appeal to students interested to gain detailed insight into the factors shaping economic and organisational performance, trends in job quality and employment relations, and the impact and practice of human resource management.
