A 2:1 BSc honours degree, or international equivalent, in:

  • computer science
  • mathematics
  • statistics
  • an engineering discipline with programming experience.

We have a strong track record of admitting applicants from a non-standard background and individuals with strong relevant work experience are encouraged to apply and will be considered on an individual basis.

About this course

Data Science is revolutionising every area of science, engineering and commerce. It offers the potential for huge societal and economic benefits. The Data Science MSc was created in collaboration with a number of high profile industry leaders to address the skills shortage in data analytics. The course brings together students and industry practitioners in a setting which new technologies are developed and translated into industry practice.

What you'll learn

Through this course you'll receive a comprehensive grounding in theory and application of data science. You'll develop the multi-disciplinary combination of skills in statistics and computer science. You'll also gain the ability to apply these skills to real problems in a given application area.

Information for international students

Direct Entry: IELTS 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 5.5 in all sub-skills).

If you have lower English Language scores, you may be accepted onto a Pre-sessional English course.
