A UK honours degree: MSc(Res) - minimum 2.2; MRes - minimum 2.1, or equivalent in a Biological or Computing subject. Applicants with relevant employment experience or other relevant qualifications will also be considered.

Course content

MSc by Research Cancer Biology is aimed at students wishing to be fully prepared for research work on graduation, but who have limited practical laboratory experience. This course also includes an option of a one year work placement.

Through studying 60 credit points (CP) of taught modules directly related to acquisition of research skills and a 60 CP research project you will emerge as a well-trained researcher with good prospects for further study to PhD or to direct work in industry. You will be working with experts in individual disciplines and will have the opportunity to study a variety of aspects of your discipline of choice.

MRes Cancer Biology is an exciting course which allows you to specialise by completing an extended research project in one of our highly rated research teams within the School of Science and Technology. The course will help you gain extensive knowledge in a particular subject area as well as develop vital research skills.
