Entry requirements

A UK honours degree (minimum 2.1 for MRes; minimum 2.2 for MSc) or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as biochemistry or microbiology. Applicants with relevant employment experience or other relevant qualifications will also be considered. International students need IELTS 6.5 (with minimum of 5.5 in reading, listening, speaking and writing).

Biotechnology is a massive international growth area and this course is designed to cultivate the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for a career within companies and research organisations. You will be working with experts in individual disciplines and will have the opportunity to study a variety of aspects of your discipline of choice.

MSc Biotechnology is a commercially relevant course suited to recent graduates looking to develop professional skills for a job in a biotechnology company. This course also includes an option of a one year work placement. This course is available as a Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma.

The MRes Biotechnology is an independent research based course, supervised by one of our experienced academics. The course will help you gain extensive knowledge in a particular subject area as well as develop vital research skills.
