A UK honours degree (minimum 2.2) or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Biochemistry or Biology. Applicants with relevant employment experience or qualifications will also be considered.

You will be working with our School of Science and Technology experts in individual disciplines and will have the opportunity to study a variety of aspects of your discipline of choice. These courses also include an option of a one year work placement.
MSc Molecular Cell Biology enables students to become familiar with the latest advances and commercially relevant techniques in Molecular Biology. It is ideal for recently qualified undergraduates who are looking for the professional skills needed to obtain a job in a bioscience company, or for individuals already working in an organisation who want a Master's level qualification to give them the competitive edge.
It is delivered by experienced research academics and offers the possibility of a research project carried out in industry. The course also cultivates the skills and experience needed to study for a research degree.
The MSc by Research Molecular Cell Biology course is aimed at students wishing to be fully prepared for research work on graduation, but who have limited practical laboratory experience.
Through studying 60 credit points (CP) of taught modules directly related to acquisition of research skills and a 60 CP research project you will emerge as a well-trained researcher with good prospects for further study to PhD or to direct work in industry.
