Course content

Environmental modelling can help improve environmental systems through research and analysis. This can help us work towards sustainability and how to plan for the future through decision making and policy.

This course will give you the opportunity to learn about sustainability principles and facilitate pro-sustainability change.

You will develop the practical skills needed for creating the changes and transformation to help individuals and society move towards more sustainable practices.

You will study areas such as:

  • information systems and geospatial data
  • environmental assessment
  • sustainability in cities

You will also learn about the law and governance of strategic decisions on complex economic, environmental, and technological questions around sustainability. You'll learn to take decisions based on computerised modelling and assessment techniques.

You will learn about the low carbon transition, with particular reference to renewables. This will prepare you to lead in thinking and practice on vital aspects of the ongoing low carbon energy transition taking place at all levels of energy governance.

In 2015, all UN countries pledged support for the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to achieve a more prosperous future for all while protecting natural resources. This course aligns itself closely to these goals and you will have the opportunity to learn more about them during your studies.

CEPMLP has been a global voice of energy law and policy since 1977. We are now working towards the transition to low-carbon economies worldwide. With over 6,000 postgraduate alumni from more than 50 countries, we prepare our graduates for high–profile careers in the public and private sectors.
