Course content
The Developmental Psychology MSc explores human development across the lifespan, examining how people grow, learn and adapt from infancy through to adulthood. The programme provides a scientific understanding of developmental processes and their application to real-world contexts.
Students study topics including cognitive and biological development, interpersonal and emotional development, and developmental differences across diverse groups. The programme also examines how developmental psychology can inform areas such as education, wellbeing and social contexts.
Research skills are developed throughout the programme, including study design, data analysis and the use of developmental assessment methods and research tools. Students critically evaluate psychological theories and research while applying this knowledge to practical issues affecting individuals and communities.
The programme concludes with an independent capstone project that allows students to investigate a developmental topic through research or reflective practice under academic supervision.
