- hold a degree in a health-related subject or social care related subject
- be working in a relevant health or social care environment so that you can meet the learning outcomes of the course.

Course overview
This clinically focused course has been developed for UK healthcare professionals who:
Are recently qualified and wish to develop their specialist knowledge and skills
Wish to extend their skill set in a new area of clinical practice.
The flexible structure of the course means it can be tailored to meet your individual needs. You can opt for one of three awards; PgCert, PgDip or the MSc. For the PgCert award you can choose 60 option credits. For the PgDip and MSc awards you can choose 100 option credits (the remaining credits are core and you can opt for an improvement method or systematic review route).
In addition, you can opt to undertake a generic or badged award in one of the following clinical specialisms:
- Independent and Supplementary Prescribing (this named award is only available as a PGCert)
- Acute Care
- Intensive Care
- Critical Care
- Care of the Older Person
- Out of Hospital Care
- Midwifery
- Mental Health
- Psychosocial Interventions
- Urgent Care
- Ophthalmic Care
- Addiction Studies.
